Movement of qualified individuals from developing countries to developed countries is and always was among arguable debate topics. The migration of individuals to other countries is a phenomenon that exists from very ancient period of human civilization. Out of various traits mankind inherited from their ancestors, the most common one is human desires to achieve success, to work hard for something better than they currently have.
Human's are working in a restless state in a hope to carve out a better tomorrow for their families and generations to come. ''Education'' is just being used for earning a good revenue these days. Various professions are evolving as the number of discoveries increase. For Instance, Engineering, Medical, Aerospace, Business, Law are the most common professions being pursued by individuals. Unfortunately, the scope of the profession's varies from country to country. Large number of people are confining themselves by pursuing a career in most common fields of work, which indirectly mean's more number of people are affiliated to a particular field of wok. This has increased competition among individuals.
Few countries, particularly the developed one's with low populations have started capitalizing from the current scenario by opening up their gate's for qualified individuals of other nations to be a part of their progress to win the grand race of success which they feel can be achieved if they work at full potential. This scenario has lead up to a new debate.
''Rich countries are busy in stealing qualified and skilled workforce from the poor countries''
These accusation are being made by developing countries. However, there are always two sides to an image. Let's have a look into both phases to draw a better conclusion of how genuine does the accusation stand.
From a poor countries prospective:
The poor countries might have a large amount of resources that demand skilled work force to be extracted. If the resources are extracted, the poor countries benefit by means trade or in other way being independent of other nations and not looking for supplies or aid. If the skilled individual's work for their respective countries they belong from becomes a plus point for a poor country. Plus point in terms that they can increase their GDP, Lift up their revenues which could lead to benefit the economy. A growing economy in business terms can be considered as success as this could lift up the life standards of people with increased facilities.
A matter of human trait, everyone wants to be successful and in this scenario who would not want to invest in a country with a fastest growing economy?
The foreign investments means unemployment rate reduces which indirectly means the number of crime's decrease. The poor country can improve its infrastructure and lay a concrete base ensuring the pillar's a country stands are able to hold throughout without collapsing.
From a rich countries prospective:
God indeed is the creator of the world, plan's the best for mankind keeping a balance to ensure egalitarian practices remain intact. Unfortunately, some of the rich countries have a low population which means a large amount of land, full of resources is left barren due to lack of human activity. The current scenario of increased unemployment has given them an opportunity to capitalize to which they have devised a strategy having benefits for both parties which in this case are the qualified individuals and the country of their immigration.
The strategy can also be labeled as ''Give and Take''. It's because the skilled individual is getting a Job offer ensuring him to pay well for his role and commitment to the institution or organization he/she is hired for. This means a better lifestyle for an individual as he resides in a developed country providing lots of facilities that include medical, assistance etc. In turn, the country get's a skilled citizen. Furthermore, increase in population that is skilled and literate. Most importantly, the country can harness all its resources using the skilled work force which could boost up the economy increasing their revenues and ensuring that they stand in line among the best developed nations of the world.
From a skilled individual's prospective:
Individual's are working day and night to make a secure future for themselves and their loved ones. Increased unemployment issue has stirred the world's system. With falling lifestyles, hunger has increased due to which crime's have increased. Crime's today are not because of choice but because of restraints that include having money to feed their loved ones. If the individual is from a poor country the situation grows worst for a number of reasons.
The developing nations undoubtedly accuses the rich nation for stealing their work force which could help them carve out a new advancing economical system. However, from the individual's prospective, an individual does not wish to work in a country where there are lack of egalitarian principle's intact, where money talks and corrupts the individuals while merit is discarded. It is a natural feeling to feel insecure with a raised concern that an individual would not have a potential future in he wishes to stay.
The conclusion after hearing all verdicts:
It is still difficult to comment how valid is the accusation made by poor countries, also difficult to comment how much valid the problem of immigration of people and the blame game. The right to make a choice belongs to the individual no matter what level, profession or nation he belongs from.
In this era, majority of the educated youth is planning to migrate to other countries where they see a value of life and a promising lifestyle. ''Freedom of speech'' is the very first part of every constitution which gives the hardworking skilled citizens of different nations a full choice to make a decision if they wish to stay or immigrate regardless of if they benefit from their choice or not.
Keeping the above debate aside, a new question arises out of the blue which is:
''How can scenario of a poor country change if the skilled people keep on migrating?''
It would be injustice to comment on this question or show allegiance to one of the side's involved in the debate. However, if education is made an important pillar of society it could be used to create awareness, to guide people rather than just earning this could increase the literacy rate of any nation. Indirectly saying, nation's build up if countries invest on making education a priority rather than solely focusing on the infrastructure only. Planning is good but an awareness must be made for which the educational channel could serve the best. If the individual is empowered with an awareness enough to understand the matter, he or she could make a wise choice which is to work for someone or to work for self nation which could lift it up from ruins to compete the best nations of the world.
