Yes, you read it right..!

China is building one of the biggest radio telescopes of the world in an effort to detect signs of life billions of light years away. The Chinese initiative is to further advance in the field of Radio Astronomy. China has relocated about 9000 individuals who are a part of this project labelled as ''Five-hundred-metre Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST)''

The telescope is under construction in China's Guizhou province, The dish is about the size of 30 football fields and is considered to transform the field of Radio Astronomy. It is made up of 4,450 triangular reflectors that span up to 36 feet per side. The telescope is designed to detect radio signals tens of billions light years away. The dish will be placed in a crater like setting with motors fitted in it with a task of enabling the dish to change its reflective surface. It is expected to uncover new galaxies and deep sky-objects. The project is expected to complete to be completed in year 2016.

Only time will tell weather this project will prove to be feasible.
